serious 21st-century question:
Sep. 22nd, 2014 11:27 amYou have a friend who lives far away and you guys haven't spoken/emailed/etc in a while. You want to chat with them to catch up. Do you prefer:
Bonus: does the answer change depending on the friend, or if you're talking to family members instead, or if you're meeting someone for the first time (e.g. a potential roommate wants to talk to you before agreeing to let you move in, but you currently live on the other coast, or something like that)?
I'm really curious what everyone thinks!
- instant messaging?
- calling and talking on the phone and/or voice chatting over Skype?
- video chatting over Skype or whatever?

Date: 2014-10-03 01:48 am (UTC)mostly my curiosity was motivated by how common skyping seems nowadays, and like... man, in a case of phone call vs skype, i will pick the phone call every time. I can like, organize my bookshelf and shit while I'm on a phone call, and also I don't have to do makeup or look presentable or anything on the phone, why do people prefer Skype over these obvious benefits I have no idea
