hey guys you know that trope in dramatic movies/anime/etc

where the Big Bad is about to face off against the hero + all his friends and the hero is like "NO, THIS IS MY FIGHT, STAND BACK"

and all of the friends just nod solemnly and stand back and let the two of 'em wail on each other?

you should know that i will never be that friend, i will barge right in the middle of that fight with a particularly heavy textbook or a large stick or a makeshift flamethrower or something because, shit dude, i am not letting you potentially die in battle just because "honor!!1!" or some bullshit

so yeah

i guess keep that in mind before inviting me along on any epic quests

see this is probably why when i write fe7 fic about everyone facing off against the dragon.............i don't let hector/lyn/eliwood fight alone that's just ridiculous it doesn't even make any fucking sense you can't tell me that all 40+ people just stand there and watch that shit happen no way

i hate that trope it doesn't make sense. unless the other person is like literally a noncombatant or whatever maybe unable to fight at all. still they could be a good distraction right??????

They have this whole big romantic conversation about how they'll protect each other forever, and Louise also drops the "I'm pregnant" bomb on Pent during that battle. :
