I wrote some ficlets for the Final Fantasy Kiss Battle! Please enjoy:
Also, I experienced an excess of Culture TM in the past couple weeks, so here's some recs:

* At a recent orchestra concert, I was surprised that the highlight of the night was not the headliner super-famous piece, but instead this lil' "Poem for Orchestra" by William Grant Still. I'd never heard of him before, but evidently, he was quite famous in his own time as a Harlem Renaissance guy, but he fell out of favor somewhat in the 50s-80s due to everyone's temporary misguided affection for serialist/twelve-tone music. He's been "rediscovered" a bit in the past few decades as music nerds have dug around and been like, oh, wait, orchestras were actually doing lots of cool stuff during that time that wasn't insufferably hipster :D;;; Good stuff.

* This Mina Penélope Rosé may be my favorite rosé I've ever sipped. I'm not sure I'd ever tasted a Mexican wine before, nor anything from this type of grape (montepulciano), but if this is anything to go on, both are A++. (Admittedly I might be biased because I was drinking it outside on a randomly GORGEOUS DAY while eating delicious clam/seafood dip and chatting with Bird Guy, but... eh, wine's about experiences anyway, right :P

* This Hawaiian chocolate bar is extremely delicious

* I had a great time thumbing through this coffee table book on How To Enjoy Wine And Such while at a friend's place; it's very down-to-earth with lots of personality. I may buy a copy for my own coffee table—I'm not a sommelier or anything, but I do like hearing people talk about wine, even if I only retain a bit of it! (The problem is all wine is so tasty; knowledgable people will tell about me all these nuances and I'll be like "mm yes... fermented grape juice... good.") Actually, speaking of down-to-earth sommeliers, here's Bon Appetit's sommelier reviewing wines created by various celebrities, including Dwayne Wade, Snoop Dogg, and more. In lieu of a point rating system, he uses emojis, and imho it's vastly more informative :P

* Also: if you, like me, have a playlist that's entirely devoted to "stuff to listen to when I wanna feel like I'm in a Cowboy Bebop episode": may I recommend Redtenbacher's Funkestra?

Outside of these indulgences I have been crazy-busy these past few weeks, but, y'know, the less said about that the better :p Hope the rest of y'all are takin' care and such!
