( I know it isn’t my turn, but it’s been a week.. )

Let’s try some POV practice. Take a scene from one of your fics ( or someone else’s, you can link to it) and write it in a different POV. For example, try writing it in first person.

a.k.a. "Shuos Jedao says howdy from the land of Battlefleet Gothic and pinochle trauma" - we'll see if the local game store is interested in carrying this and/or some of the other 11"x17" prints as they've carried my smaller art prints in the past.

Meanwhile, back to napping (recuperating from sickness) and/or schoolwork.

Two months later, finally posting about finishing Metaphor: ReFantazio. Looking back at my last Metaphor post I was only at the Dragon Temple on Virga Island, but looking at my notes on my phone I stopped writing anything down until near the end lmaoo.

So, thoughts overall: I enjoyed it. If you enjoy the format of a Persona game but would like it set in a fantasy world (dungeon crawling mixed with social links, turn-based battles with summon strategization) then you'll probably enjoy playing this too. The battles are fun but I think the characters are the real highlight of the game. Like with many RPGs, there's a colorful cast with lots of drama and heartfelt moments. I think Eupha and Basilio remain my faves, but I also really liked Hulkenberg and Junah too.

Metaphor ReFantazio yapping continues )

After beating Metaphor I finally started playing Hades II! It's just as fun as the first game and I'm enjoying the new stuff they added to the gameplay. I think my favorite weapons are the axe and the knives and the skull....but they're all pretty good except for that mecha armor thing I used it once and was so bad at it sjdhfkjsdf never again.

Unfortunately the past few weeks my free time for gaming has been taken up not by Hades but by Overwatch instead. 😑 Every time I think I'm free... And now they've released 5 new heroes at once and this damn Sanrio collab!!!

Chapter 161: Sako scolding the shit out of Kanuma, Inugami and Arima for interrupting his conversation with Hiiragi. =P

Aw Kusumi hiding behind Enomoto.

Sako getting jealous of Inugami talking to Hiiragi. 😂

Kaji smiling while remembering he, Sako and Hiiragi's past friendship. :')

Nirei doing the face again when Suou finds Kanuma. 🤣

Chapter 162: Sakura was so cute making sure to tell Togame to let him know if they he needed anything.

Lovely scene between Umemiya and Sakura. <3

Sakura beating himself up over not being perfect but Umemiya's not perfect either! No one is and I hope he realizes that someday.

Hiiragi calling Sakura pure and everyone worrying about how he runs head-first into things.

"We'll always keep showing you that we absolutely love being with you. That you're someone that we all cherish."

Sakura's pure delight at the fireworks ahhh.

Chapter 163: So Sugishita lives with his grandparents. The grandad would drive me nuts.

Sugishita spitting out his coffeeee.

Momose seems pretty cute and kind now that we see more of his personality.

Lol so Sugishita is struggling with the fact that he found Sakura cool. I love how everyone was trying to figure out what he was saying when he was trying to stutter out 'cool'.

Sugishita's dentist must hate all the teeth-grinding he does. If he even has one.

In looking through the stuff on my floor today, in trying to figure out what I don't particularly want anymore, I made one of the bigger decisions in that vein in a while: I tossed out old novel drafts.

I don't need them anymore, and while I want them, I don't want them enough to keep them around. I've got the full drafts on my hard drive. I figured I didn't need the notes I took anymore, so the pages they're on might as well get set aside for recycling. It's a decision I've wanted to make I haven't bothered to make until today. Speaking of, there's four bags of books set aside for another Strand run - mostly from high-end salvaging through the neighborhood, a couple I bought ages ago that I have to say goodbye to. If I'd wanted to give them to someone, I'd have done so by now; keeping them is more a reminder of the idea of giving them to someone, the idea of that someone, than any specific plans I haven't acted on yet. It's something I need to accept over and over again, and each time it's the same stages and steps of the process of doing so. Investing in another external hard drive so I can divest myself of DVD box sets is aspirational in comparison.

I've got a box set aside for papers. If it fits in there, I can keep them. That's the goal. The best way to achieve that goal is to find the papers I've got that could conceivably be put in there. First, though, the Strand run tomorrow, and a library run for some of the DVD box sets to find their way to another good home.

When we last left our intrepid heroes, they were at Doomer Disneyworld, trying to figure out how theme park employees have outlived the rest of the population of this alternate Earth. As you may have deduced, they haven’t: the employees are all animatronic robots.

The JLE keeps trying to investigate in the face of the robots’ relentless cheer, but they can only hear “It’s a Mauled World After All” so many times before they snap.

The web seems to agree that Cha Junhwan got unreasonably low marks from the judges. I am willing to agree - I thought it was very good and since I saw it not live, I already knew that there was no falling. I hate seeing falls. Snippets here:

Also, I think their costumes are ugly, but I have no idea how many points that gets.

NBC is all in on Ilia Malinin, to the point of erasure of other good skaters. He seems nice enough, I don't think it's his fault, but it makes me not want to see anything he does.

As far as NBC's coverage goes, we were being shown live half-pipe when I checked in this afternoon. The commentator suddenly said, very honestly: "We're switching to luge, because a US team might get a medal."
As it happened, the US teams ended up in 6th and 8th place, not in 1 or 2 or 3, but of the guys who came close, one is from Massachusetts, so yay. I remember in days of old when the local post office of the home address of athletes had a banner on it saying so. Paul Wylie won a skating medal in 1992. IIRC, he was living in Somerville at the time, and the 02144 PO had a banner.
