(and, hahahaha, oh i'm so unsurprised the stereotypical french outfits were in vogue at PAX. it's such a simple-yet-fun cosplay and the game DOES give everyone "baguette" outfits as an option at some point... love it.)

Oh excellent! I was speculating with a friend who hadn't played the game yet either about whether it was a canon-accurate cosplay or just a reference so I'm pleased to hear it's both. :D

ty for the link! My initial impression from what people said sounds a lot like some of what you mentioned in your post -- leans very philosophical, grim, very very French and so I was giving it a pass with a sigh of relief because it's not like I don't have a lot of other games I want to play.

But after seeing all of five minutes of it, I was like, shit, it's as pretty and looks as smooth in the overworld as Horizon: Zero Dawn (the first Big Game I played after falling out of video games for like a decade), the block/parry mechanics are giving me such nostalgic feelings about Legend of Dragoon ... (And a love letter to big bombastic RPGs is extremely relevant to my interests too, hah.) Going to try and put it off a little while in favor of attempting to get at least a little bit further into Blue Prince, though. XD

(Which I saw you mentioned in that post too, but am pointedly not going to go searching for your post on just yet. :D)
