I'm really enjoying reading about your piano adventures! There's definitely something a little videogamey about playing the piano: the way you have to press things with precise force and timing, the immediate feedback when you slip up (the 'run-ending mistakes' observation is agonisingly true), the way you steadily improve with practice. (They also both share that 'I'll just sit down to play for a while - wait, where did all that time go?' quality, come to think of it.)
