I cannot say I really know what the deal was because I was 13 when I graduated Lutheran school, but honestly the attitudes of some of the moms were a little close to evangelical "reading The Enchanted Forest is giving Satan a window into your heart" and since then I have had a lot of people make The Face at me when I say I went to a Missouri Synod school, lmao. But a quick browse of Google looks like the Missouri Synod are "we are right, the Bible is literally true in every respect, and we will not change a thing for anyone." Much like the Puritans, they appear to have fucked off from Europe (in this case Germany) on the grounds of "the other people are being TOO CHILL AND PERMISSIVE we gotta go make our sacred kingdom elsewhere." ....oh my god I just started browsing the Wikipedia page and it really fucking is Puritans, But German. no wonder people made the Face at me.
