What's really interesting is the Catholic perspective changed during COVID! What was previously "take both bread and wine" is suddenly "well, one or the other is fine" for sake of, you know, not spreading a disease we know nothing about in 2020. My diocese still doesn't offer the wine.

Seeing this context now, the whole thing is even more bizarre. I never knew the "no wine for commoners" rule back in the day, and now they're saying you can (theoretically) just take the wine and it counts.

I'm an old-school kind of Catholic who feels incomplete without both, so it's still strange after four years to only be receiving the bread.
