misc warblings about it under the cut

Once, back when my sister-in-law was just my brother’s girlfriend, she went with my brother to visit my parents in their Very Southern Home.

“I’ve set up both the guest room and your brother’s room,” my mother told me over the phone, in nervous anticipation, “and I’m just not going to say anything, so they can choose for themselves whether they’re sleeping together or separate.”

“Huh?” said I, the heathen daughter who noped off to Seattle. “Why wouldn’t they sleep together? Are they fighting or something?”

“[Lua],” said my mother, in the exceedingly patient voice of one who’s had to explain Basic Facts About Your Own Cultural Upbringing to me far too many times, “they’re not married, and she’s very Baptist.”

Oh! Right! Yes! I totally forgot other people have hangups about that sort of thing!

Anyway this fic was my goofy little riff on that :P

(Also, it's motivated by my realization that oh my GOD can you IMAGINE having Reyson as an in-law. Also, just a general itch of "man, now that I've written a whole bunch of Leanne, I can kinda see the case for Naesala/Leanne in a way I didn't before; I wonder if I could write some Charming Fluff about them as a fun little challenge." Does this fic count as fluff by anyone else's standards? It certainly counts by mine, lol, I was sort of rolling my eyes at how schmoopy it got at the end.)

ANYWAY HAPPY LEANNE/NAESALA DAY

ahahaha that's a great story for the inspiration :P yeah, southern baptists are sure something.

apropos of nothing - it's been really cute reading this Trickster makes the world book and seeing retroactively how many trickster motifs you've given nae-nae over the years (instinctively or not).
