yeah the thing i like about reading is how UN-hobby-like it is lmao. like, more books are published every year than i could ever possibly read, this has been true since approximately the advent of the printing press, and i am NOT limited to just the current year!!! i can just do a random walk through All Human Thought That Has Ever Existed and it's great!!! fuck keeping up with publishing trends or what's hot now; Jane Austen has never betrayed me; etc etc
