I read X's autobiography at a very young and impressionable age, not too long after I read Lee Iacocca's autobiography. Both are best-selling 20th century memoirs of lives in the public eye, and in both of them the guy gets fired by the org he has dedicated his life to, and embarks on a super interesting second act. A huge lesson I took away from this is that being fired does not mean you have Failed At Life.
