I mean tbf, in my area IV electrolytes for hangover cures are trendy enough that you can get them on street corners (also, shudder, IV hydrogen peroxide for... 'detox'?). So I can see why people would be like, I'm actually sick, why can't I get a million IVs? (Then again, if you're doing the IV hangover cure, like, maybe you have a drinking problem?)
Anyway, I had heard of chronic Lyme and always assumed it was a weird autoimmune thing. I guess it's not shocking people want it to be something else bc autoimmune things, generally, suck.
