Yeah, I only know the very little I know because a friend in college wrote their thesis on 1980s magical realist literature and had Very Strong Opinions about how the term was used; she gave me a long speech at some party and it was fabulous. Wish I had a better actual source to point to, though, since my memory of said long speech has faded a bit with time :D;;;
