I actually have been way less on Chasing the Political News the last couple months than I have been for the five years before that (I wonder why) (it's actually kind of nice) but I mean, I grew up in DC. I start getting really anxious when I realize I don't know what major bills are before Congress or what kinds of cases SCOTUS might be hearing. and it's not that my knowing about them is necessarily useful or meaningful in the sense of affecting the outcome, but I just Need to Know, and it boggles me that there are people that think that sort of thing is irrelevant to daily life. (I mean yes SCOTUS decides some weird arcane interpretations that are extremely narrow and not relevant to Most Humans In America, but.)
