I'm pretty sure I've read at least one of Butler's short stories elsewhere and was mightily impressed at how horny at was but oh my god looks like i need to pick up her entire back catalog. feel like NK Jemison is following in her footsteps in a very fun way sometimes, ngl. Slightly pulpy with horny subtext (and text), kickass hard questions in worldbuilding about institutional power dynamics...
