I also read this recently and also came away feeling a little regretful that it didn’t spark anything more passionate in me beyond “well, that was a pleasant read.”
But right now I am reading City Wilds, a collection of short pieces that treat urban areas as legitimate topics for nature writing, and it (or parts of it anyway) are speaking to me, so I’m not giving up on nature writing just yet.
