Lost in Lualand

I haven't read this yet, but I definitely zeroed in on the "blog post as mouthpiece" bit because I feel like so many people do not....understand that there's a difference between character and author. And like you said, a sense of narrative distance can help reinforce that, but man, I have read some truly vile things coming out of the mouths of characters written by people whom I *know* know better/think differently, and what makes the difference for me is whether the narrative treats that as correct.
