hahaha. i gave The Rosie Project a chance because (1) it was on the shelf in my parents' house while i was visiting them, (2) my mom had read it, and (3) Bill Gates apparently liked it? and yeah, the experience was... i mean, roughly akin to watching The Big Bang Theory? which, y'know, obviously is a popular show in terms of numbers, apparently the suuuper stereotypical "nerdy guy and Good At People girl" dynamic is appealing to lots of older folks, and it's not so much that i find it offensively bad so much as... a tired and dated way of doing things, i guess? so like, lowkey yikes, also lowkey was never going to be my thing regardless, i guess :P
i'm not much a Harry Potter person myself, but am very pleased to hear slashfic along those lines is getting published! MORE STORIES, MORE CAKES, etc etc :D
