I read this entry in a state of ecstasy. Horse RPs were such a mystery to me in my early teens on Neopets! I'd click on threads on the Neopets roleplaying boards titled things like ~~ LIQUID SILVER ~ equine RP ~ literate ~~ just so I could try to puzzle out the weird alternate-universe version of English that horse roleplayers used. A line I wrote in an entry in 2018, when I was reminiscing about Neopets:
It was very exciting when I turned thirteen and was allowed to access the message boards. I spent a lot of time on the roleplay boards. Someone on Neopets maintained a hilarious site for horse (or 'equine', no horse roleplayer ever actually said 'horse') roleplayers which was just a list of terrible flowery terms that they advised you to use. Why say 'eyes' when you could say 'orbs' or 'oculars' or 'lanterns' or 'twin pools'? Why say 'ears' when you could say 'acoustic apparatus'?
And suddenly I get insight from an equine roleplay insider! This is incredible.
It took me a goddamn week to join my first horse game, because I had to read through a whole encyclopedia of horse breeds to determine, empirically, which breed would be the best at beating up other horses. For my first ever horse battle post I wrote 3,000 words to describe “Ska kicks Duplicity in the side” and revised it like 800 times and was physically shaking when I finally hit send.

This is my favourite part. I'm so charmed.
