ooc, in what ways did it age badly?

Slaughterhouse-Five definitely had the property where like, I was cringing whenever he described e.g. a female character—buuuut, there just weren't very many of those period, which is also a problem, but like, easy enough to sorta eyeroll at and move on with your life, since it's only a couple pages at a time.

(i run into this a lot when reading stuff by Old Dude Authors. like, would i prefer to have some women who are actual fully-realized characters? yes! but if you're gonna cock it up entirely, like, i'd rather you didn't try, i will accept a strange No Girls Allowed universe if it gets me out of reading weird rants about 1950s gender roles)
