Which translation are you reading of War and Peace? Because I keep meaning to go back to it, after having bounced so thoroughly off the Constance Garnett that it might as well have been a rubber band, and I could use a rec for a reasonable translation. (I mean, if you're reading the Garnett, more power to you!)
