When I worked in the copy shop (Mom and Pop equivalent of Kinko's, did a lot of work for my Alma mater and a lot of local nonprofits), there was a handout we copied for the local UU church. It was about the passing of a stalwart member of the community, Someone Else, who was always there to take on any project no matter how big or small (Oh, Someone Else will do that!) Gimmicky, sure, but it's stuck with me - I have to be that Someone Else, because most people assume that they don't have to do it. And hey, if someone else also steps up, that's awesome because there's more getting done.
It mixes in my head a lot with a comment I saw on Twitter the other day, about how people panic about how if they went back in time some tiny action could cause a future cascade of fuckery, but never apply that train of thought to "small things now change the future," and, okay, trite (and also Twitter), but--damn.
