I've watched other people play it a bit, but I haven't played Breath of the Wild for myself yet, until now.

"Alright, where do I go next?" I ask, as I paraglide out of the tutorial area.

"Wherever you want," he says.

"Okay, sure, but really. Where to?"

"The King told you about Karkariko Village. It's that way."

"Cool, I'll do that—oh, wait, hold on, that looks fun," I say, and immediately veer to the right to bash in some Bokoblin skulls. Night comes, and I collect a bunch of Bokoblin skeletal hands as weapons, despite their impracticality, because the way they wriggle and jump makes me laugh.

But the sun rises and that's enough of that. Karkariko. Okay. I started heading toward the village again.

Except then there's another fort of Bokoblins, and these look tougher, and now I'm kind of chomping at the bit for a challenge.

I get crushed, naturally, but I dig in my heels and give it another couple tries. "Is whatever in that chest worth it?" I ask at some point—worth all the trouble I'm putting in?

He shrugs. "I mean, nothing in this game is really worth it. Which means everything is."
