A Dark Room is yet another browser-based ASCII-ish text-adventure-ish game, in the vein of the better-known Candy Box. Unlike Candy Box, however, which is mostly whimsy and leaving-your-browser-tab-open-waiting-for-candies-to-accumulate, A Dark Room feels stark and vaguely ominous from the get-go, and while there's definitely a "waiting for stuff to go up" element, particularly in the beginning, as the game progresses it becomes more about resource management and exploration.

It also does some very clever stuff with its minimalistic storytelling, but it'd be spoilers if I said any more than that.

The game's relatively short and the first half can mostly be done by keeping it open in a browser tab and swapping to it occasionally. I'm told there's also an iPhone version if you're into mobile games. I recommend it; if anyone ends up playing it, hit me up so we can trade thoughts!
