and honestly the parallels between Jackson vs Banks and Bidniz Republicans vs populists like, I know them at a high level, but i get a sense that you have read more Actual Books about this era in history and juicy details are where it's at and
man i should probably know more about what modern historians are saying about that era of US history.
have any book recs in this general area? (i have few preferences beyond "earlyish americanish" and "please not as thick as the Hamilton biography, I'm still slowly chugging my way through that because i am slowest reader")
