in general i feel extremely lame confessing this, because i very quickly made it A Thing after arriving at college, to such an extent that i suspect most my college friends are unaware—but yeah, in high school and earlier i would sometimes say "you all" but never y'all and most often not even "you all"; then i got to college and got made fun of for saying "you all" like once and yeah kinda without realizing it i just dialed it to eleven
