june life update
this past month i:
* banged out a lil Kristoph Gavin & Simon Blackquill character study. not sure if i'll turn it into a "real" fic or not, but it sure was a fun thing to throw on tumblr
* finished a (very cute and fun!) Klapollo fic for a zine, which unfortunately i cannot share yet because said zine is not yet released
* hit over 12k on my "Apollo Justice kinda being an asshole" fanfic, which unfortunately i cannot yet because it isn't finished yet, yes this is on track to become my longest completed fic and yes i'm just as surprised as you are
good times all around.
and in not-fanfiction-related updates:
* i picked up the tremendously silly mobile game Eggs, Inc. on a whim, and i am having, honestly, way too much fun for what's just a glorified Cookie Clicker. at some point Bird Guy noticed me playing, downloaded it himself, and now we're just racing to thwart each other with mightier farms, lol
* similarly, Bird Guy started watching House (a rewatch for him; totally new for me), and I'm now absolutely entranced. i didn't think i liked medical procedurals, at all (and for sure i squirm and look away from the screen whenever they have UNNECESSARILY GRAPHIC SURGERY lol), but, House!!! he's such a fantastic asshole!!! just the Platonic ideal of "brilliant asshole who's somehow also incredibly witty" that, y'know, fell out of vogue lately for various reasons but still appeals strongly to the guilty pleasures of the teenager in my heart, lol. being in that writer's room must've been so fun. it's so popcorn-y and ridiculous and yet i absolutely cannot stop watching whenever it is on
* saw a doctor, and i'm making some progress on figuring out some health issues, which is nice. btw, in case you ever need to go on a low FODMAP diet & you're pissed off at how limited and complicated all your meal options are: note that corn chips are in, and hard cheeses are in. this means you can eat lazy microwave nachos for literally all your meals if need be. also, you only need to be on the total elimination phase for two weeks before you start adding stuff back in; ignore wild people on the internet who haven't eaten a single tasty meal since like 2015. you're welcome, on both fronts.
* i scrambled some eggs that came fresh from my friends' chickens! they didn't taste any different than store-bought, lol. they're more yellow i guess? very fun regardless
* i led two birding trips (one which was a youth bird walk!!! the kids are alright :D also we got the best sighting of a Virginia rail i've ever had in my entire life, holy hell, those dudes are not supposed to just walk on the trail in front of you? and chill out for a bit?? and pose for the paparazzi??? utterly fantastic)
* got deliriously, wonderfully trashed with an old coworker/friend
* survived a ridiculous heat wave
so yeah june kinda ruled. i'm gonna frolic off to jump in a lake this weekend and god i absolutely cannot wait. i love summer so hecking much sighs into hands

Same on all counts! Have never watched another medical show or have any interest in doing so, but really loved House up through s4/part way into 5 or so.
Congratulations on surviving the heat wave and fun and productive things!

I love summer also, although the past week of humidity has absolutely done me a murder and I did not like that (though, of course, your heat wave.....big yikes)
Lots of busy things for busy Lua! I hope the low FODMAP diet helps pinpoint some things ♥
