They can't fight, they never leave their forest, they very especially want nothing whatsoever to do with the country or its rules or people, they did not seem to go out of their way to undercut the senate very often... but they were still a threat. Perhaps because of this ability?

I wonder if that made them especially valuable slaves, beauty aside. If you could convince one not to die, maybe they had other uses: empathic ability, singing to your gardens, enhancing your virility with certain songs...
