i'd be SUPER curious if your parents didn't like him from the start, or kinda retroactively decided to dislike him later... mostly because it sounds like that was a pretty common story, with Carter; he got a lot of support due to his own sincere born-again Baptist faith & being kind of vague about specific policy positions, and this was before the Religious Right TM was a super-specific sort of thing... but, yeah, i feel you re: impossibility of getting trivia from parents.

and yeah i did not really PLAN to writeup two huge doorstoppers one after another but, life finds a way, etc :P
