queenlua | So I finally started playing Radiant Dawn...

...yeah, I started writing a post-PoR fanfic without playing Radiant Dawn first. I'm just terrible. (To be fair, I read all the relevant bits of the RD script before I did anything with the fanfic, but it felt super-lame compared to the actual experience of playing the game.)

Anyway, relevant blatherings, having finished part one:

Guh. The Dawn Brigade is just awful, combat-wise. The playable units are like, what? Nolan, Sothe, and Zihark, but besides them, there's just not that much to get excited about. Even Jill, who kicked so much ass last game, is significantly weaker.

Tormod and Sothe's relationship is... really interesting. They were friends in PoR, if you supported them, but not super-close friends, and I'm curious what transpired that made Tormod so eager to help out Daein just because Sothe asked. And convince his laguz buddies to come help to. And stay along with Sothe's group even after Izuka tries to turn Muarim into a feral one. Speaking of which...

Izuka was so blatantly, obviously evil that I honestly can't figure out why they didn't shunt him to the side on day one. Besides delivering Pellas, it seems like every scene involves him being incompetent and bratty. Guh.

<3 the wolf laguz. But I'm a sucker for wolves anyway, so that's hardly a surprise. (I'd really like to learn more about Nailah and Volug's relationship, though.)

Miciah's... fascinating. I imagine I'll learn more about her later, but there's so many really interesting tensions going on with her. ~~I was going to write more about her but then it turned into a small novel and I'm tired so bleh I'll blather later~~
